My Big Bum and My Garmin

Despite being lighter than a feather, I still managed to crack the screen on my Edge 705 when I sat on it.

I got it less than a year ago, so the warranty is still valid. Would this be covered under the warranty? I fear a repair costing like £100 for a screen that probably costs like £20.

    Not covered by warranty.
  • It's not a warranty issue, but when I crashed 18 months ago, damaging the rubber 'joystick' on my 705, Garmin say no repairable components. Replacement cost about £110 for a new unit (which came as a fully boxed replacement, not just the 705).
There's no such thing as too old.

You'll just have to be more careful where you plonk your fat @rse in future.

  • How did you pay for the Garmin, some credit card companies will give free 12 months accident cover for items that cost over £100.00.

Or you could look into your house insurence policy, although I`m sure an excess could be an issue.

    good luck.
