Yo all,

This is just for those who may be interested in the UK availability of the new 29er Anthem. I dropped by the Giant concept store in Bristol today to inquire.

Apparently the small sizes will be with the shop in approx 4 weeks (although they might get them a bit earlier) but the medium and large sizes won't arrive until the second week of January 2011 :(

I'd imagine the delay with the Med and Large sizes is due to the recall on the frames Giant issued recently. No mention of the XL size in their timetables incidentally.

Not that you'd know anything about that of course Mr first time poster!

Well you're assuming that my lack of posts indicates that I'm untrustworthy. Fine, I appreciate that :) . Perhaps though you could entertain the notion that I am, in fact, someone who is a regular non-contributor to many MTB forums and that has been following the recent Giant Anthem recall news closely.

Here I merely am passing on what I thought might be useful information. I'm only reporting what I've gathered from the internet regarding recalls on Giant Anthem 29er frames.

As to my personal experience, unless the Giant store manager was lying, what I've told you is true as it pertains to the arrival of the goods in stores.

So seeing as post count is related to knowledge, does this mean I know less than you?

    Steady on.

I don't see post count as related to knowledge. Where have I suggested that?

It's just odd for a first time poster to start such a specific topic, with such apparently specific knowledge. Thats all.

If it's entirely genuine then of course I'm sorry for any unintended slight.

I'm loving the concept of a "regular non-contributor" though!

Yes IanTrcp, you're right, I suppose it would seem a bit suspect.

:) Er, and yes, "regular non-contributor" is a bit a pretty redundant term I suppose. I guess I just have always gathered a lot of 'knowledge', always taken with a pinch of salt, from many forums over the years, but have always been too lazy to give back. I think there are a lot of lurkers out there like me judging by how familiar the regular contributor names are here and elsewhere. I hope to change my 'regular non-contributor' ways though :)

ANYWAY - Boo to Giant for withholding the goodies *throws allen keys out pram*

The recall is well publicised and I'd imagine the Giant store would have an idea of dates now (they didn't a few weeks back when I asked) so not sure why anyone would feel the need to be suspicious. Personally I'd decided I already have enough MTBs and need a better road bike instead so good job they weren't available a few weeks back :p
