  • Very good choice =)

My Allez sport was essentially my wife until it was stolen...

Id imagine your first upgrade will be the pedals, then tyres, you will get a full lycra get up, then wheels etc etc etc =D

    Welcome to the addiction!!

  • pedals are a must, the plastic ones hurt my feet as i had to wear normal shoes im used to clipping in on the mtb....

tyres seemed ok? they dodgy in the wet?
  • If they are the same as the Allez sport (I imagine they are!) they are pretty nippy, but like riding on your tubes. Had more punctures than I care to recall!!

On my Raleigh that I bought with the insurance payout from the theft of my dearest Spesh, I have a set of Conti Gators which have only flattened once on me, whilst riding through South Londons answer to Beirut (Abbey Wood).

I am quite heavy though so Im sure the extra downforce on the tyres helped the offending articles to penetrate the tyres.

Blimey you are brave. I find it troubling enough driving through there in a car with all the doors double locked!!!!!

  • Nice pic, I think the Allez looks very nice in silver, quite elegant and simple.

Almost as nice as white

Nice bike, good place to start :-) Get some clip on mud guards for the winter though.

Get a track pump and run the tyres at a decently high pressure, helps a lot. You want them much harder than your mtb and a normal pump won't get you there.
