can someone recommend me one that does actually clip to a rear loop in a saddle bag rather than fall off, gone through 5 of the buggers now....

todays came off whilst doing 67kph, I heard it but no way was I stopping and cycling back up hill to look for it !

Simple. Ziptie around the clip and through the saddlebag strap, difficult to describe but just think about it and it'll be clear. You don't cut anything just wrap around.

  • As above and/or a couple of elastic bands (again think about but maybe not as much)
  • ......or limit your speed to 66kph

Im guessing you're using the saddle bag clip as there is not space on your seat post? there are many lights that use a seat stay mount instead

If the light is thro' the loop using a clip, a couple of small zipties work fine. Similarly on the seat post. You can put the tie around the actual light. Don't attach the tie around the frame without some protection as the frame finish will get damaged

I just cable tied a red eye to the seatpost, or use a knog. I reckon a short red eye and battery inside the saddle bag could work.

I always like the cateye 610 rear lights but the mounts are rubbish. Have heard of a few people using cableties on those and some foam rubber glued to the back of the light.
