Web links on footer?

I have picked up a wee bit of sponsorship and I will ride for Greens Health and Fitness and Billy Bilsland Cycles.
Can I put their website address' in my footer? Is that ok or is it classed as advertising.
Just want to pay them back for the support they have given me and continue to give me?
Dont want to do owt that I am not supposed to?
If I cant then is there anything I can do to give them a bit of press on my behalf?

doesn't stop quite a few people doing it though, or advertising by starting threads for what can only be 'covert' advertising
