MTB trails between Oxford and Basingstoke

Go to Swinley Forest in Bracknell. Easy for your mate in Basingstoke (quick trip up the M3), but a bit more of a trek for you from Oxford. But well worth it.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0

The Ridgeway is 80 something miles long.
The Chilterns are filled with trails and tracks.
As Othello said "Swinley".
Aston HIll is not that far from you if you want a bit of DH and I think 4x too.
There are tonnes of miles of trails all over the place between B/stoke and Oxfrd. Can only suggest you get some OS maps and explore.0 -
As everyone else said really - Swinley rocks and The Chilterns have hundreds of miles of off road.
I would suggest making a day of it one weekend in Swinley -Get there early, have a ride and explore, have lunch in the cafe and then get back out there.
It would take you days to find all of Swinley, its massiveSpecialized Rockhopper Comp 2009.0 -
What kind of biking are you into? As the others have said, you have plenty of natural stuff north of Reading and Swindon, or theres Swinley. Be prepared with Swinley to do some proper adventuring, the trails arent marked and it takes most people a few ride around to find just a handful of the trails. The first time I went I thought I had hit the trails to get back and realise I had missed most of it! :oops:2010 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp

I have ridden around Shotover Hill on the edge of Oxford, just outside Headington. Its good for a play, although it has been a number of years since I was there.0
