Hi All,
I'm wanting to join a club in the north east or east of london that meet the criteria below
Do I have to wear a club kit? I don't want to wear one.
I'm 24. Will I look out of place in such a club?

I'm with brucebanner - i'm not sure i'd want to wear club kit and look like a school trip unless it was a race.
When i was rowing (in an VIII or IV) we'd generally wear a right mixture of our own kit and only wear the club stuff at regattas etc.2010 Trek 1.5 Road - swissstop green, conti GP4000S

Can understand if you don't want to wear club kit and I'm not preaching but a lot of clubs ask for clubkit to be worn as they are often subsidised by their sponsers. Our shirt for instance(VC Norwich) is a Castelli one and would cost £70 normally but due to our sponsers it only costs us half that, the trade off being that we wear it on club rides to advertise our sponsers.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

No club should force you to wear club kit - even on a club ride. However, if you are competing, competition rules will probably require you to wear your club colours if you are entering the event on their behalf.
Wearing club kit is not a prerequesite of joining a club.0 -
I didn't realise most clubs were sponsored, that changes the argument2010 Trek 1.5 Road - swissstop green, conti GP4000S

Do I have to wear a club kit? - Only for races (cat 3 or above I think).
I'm 24. Will I look out of place in such a club? - Yes, if you don't wear club kit to club events.

I must add we are asked to wear our shirt and nobody is turned away or anything mentioned if they don't. The majority are happy to wear it as it's a nice bit of kit and the design is very contempary.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?
