Ordered a pair of the standard ones after reading the rave reviews of them here.
Just received them much more quickly than I anticipated and with a free mule bar folded in to them, and the price is great for a try.

All this is lovely but...

The are not particularly like the ones portrayed in the photos' on the website. In fact they are dark blue, navy I suppose, rather than the black on the site. The stitching and label is different too. I have not tried them on so cannot comment on the comfort but on appearance I ain't too chuffed.
I am told every time I have an eye test that my colour perception is bang on so it's not me. What's going on. Navy wont go with any of my gear.

Guess I will go back to my perennial favourite Giordana who's gear I always get on with.

Hardly devastated ... but not impressed either. Last time I listen to you lot anyway!

Have you contacted them? No point moaning on here unless you have. It's probably a simple mistake which I'm sure they'll sort out. You could also pm 'miggers', as he seems up front about any problems brought up on BikeRadar.

    Limburger,

I have two of them. I guess I can see what you are saying. Yes they are not the blackest shorts. Neither are they blue. Most of the rest of my kit has black bits and I really don't see this as a big issue. Nothing looks obviously wrong. Certainly nothing to complain about when it comes to the quality you are getting for the very low price of 29quid.

What's more Shutt have been great with me. I also ordered a jersey that appeared a little big for me and they just sent me another - no questions asked - and let me choose which one to keep.

Great company with fantastic customer focus.

If you have a concern, as the man above says - just contact them. I'm sure they will help you out, even if is just a refund.

  • Yeah, suppose I'll fire off an email tomorrow.

Wouldn't mind if the picture was a true reflection of what they are selling because I wouldn't have bought them if it was. As it is it is sloppy at best and misleading at worst. Oh, and cost shouldn't have any bearing on the colour or if they match the picture of not.

  • Hi Limburger,

Give us a call monday morning, you should get through to Jess who'll be able to sort something out. Number here: 01943 601031

I personally agree about the representation issues. and that cost shouldn't matter on a basic point as such. But all the pairs of them I've seen match up so something may have changed.
If you're not happy we're not happy!

But like I said, give a call or if you fancy give me an email. Matt@shuttvr.com and I'll get it on to Miggers.
    Cheers Matt

Hi Limburger - As Matt says please do get in touch and we will do our best address your concerns. We aren't trying to mislead anyone.

Like any website that engages in distance trading we do state in the general terms on the site that: "Images of products on our website are for illustrative purposes; actual products may differ from such images". This is partly because colour cannot display 100% due to most people not having colour calibrated monitors and as we make our own stuff we do improve the designs regularly. The Std Bibs are now on the MkIII version and in our opinion a far better product than the MkI's.

Lucky you!!! I got the Pro and I got nothing but the bibs..... I normally get something from Wiggle, even if I spend only £10......

Giordana are really good and for the price I think they are a better deal than the shutt pro bib.

Is getting a sample Mule Bar that important!?...
I have two pairs of Pro Bibshorts and I think the shorts are as good as my Assos.
Assos are 2-3 times the price and you get jack sh!t off them.

Yeah right, as good as Assos ...... What else do you need from Assos? You get far better quality than any other cycling manufacturer .... perhaps Assos don't need to give you freebies to sell their stuff?

Can I assume you have tried the Shutt Pros then, or is this just a sweeping statement?

You don't get sweets, or energy bar samples with Assos...
What you do (did?) get is, a nice well crafted cardboard box, a catalogue, lots of shiney labels, a bottle of detergent, a sample sized tub of their chamois cream and a wash bag.
Trust me, that does not make up for the huge difference in price.
I'm not knocking the Assos shorts, I love 'em, but I love my Shutt Pro Bibshorts, too, 'cos they're less expensive.

That doesn't necessarily equate to more VFM...

Of course not but my point was that I spent more than double than the guy that got a Mule Bar..... hence my comment about him being lucky or maybe I was unlucky :)

I don't have any Assos short so I cannot comment on them but I have two pairs of Giordana Tenax and I prefer them to the Shutt Pro bibs and if my memory serves me right they are also £15 cheaper.
Notice, before you come back with another remark, that I said "prefer" I don't think the shutt pro bibs are bad, they are simply not my favourites.
  • Sorry to jump on this thread a bit but seeing at the guys from Shutt are in here, do you make bib shorts that fit a 38" waist on someone 6'3? I've been recommended your bib shorts but cant see anything even close to fitting me on your site.

Arrived home today, opened my new Pro bibshorts... Very black, fit perfectly and... Yep, there was a mule bar in the bag.
And a ticket to the Cycle how! :D

EDIT: Went out for a ride this morning, the new insert is really good.
