Brought my bike to work today and went for lunch by bike instead of car. And my max speed (as reported by my Tesco computer): 69.4mph :D

That must have been some tail wind on the road out

We really should. Once she gets on a motorway and has no peds or red lights to worry about, she could be down here in about 5 hours to rip all of our scalps off!

So it's not just cheap Tesco computers that pluck random max speeds out of the air.

According to my Garmin (running on the dodgy 3.2 firmware at the time, since been pulled from garmin.com due to all the problems), I did the last day of Pedal to Paris, 60.19 miles, which matched the route guide pretty much, in 4:49. So far so good. But it reckoned moving time was 15 minutes 12. That's an average of 237.1 mph.....If that was true, I shouldn't have taken the Eurostar back to Blighty :)

You can roll back the firmware on 705s by downloadin it to the PC and uploading it to the Garmin and renaming it as the current firmware name after deleting the old firmware. YOu lose the backlight memory thing but don't get the autopause kicking in at 17mph like I did.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Already reverted to 3.1. The Mac version of the software updater handily gives a 'revert to previous version' option.

I could get 72mph on my wireless comp when sitting at my desk :D

So it could be my phone that caused the computer to travel 0.01 miles yesterday whilst sitting on my bed.

Electronic security barriers by the doors of shops also make you ride at 56.3mph
