Taken from the BBC News website: Papal visit: Pope Benedict in London.

"The Pope is leading an assembly of children in west London on day two of his four-day state visit to the UK"

"Pope Benedict will lead a gathering of nearly 4,000 young people at St Mary's University College at an event called The Big Assembly."

"One choirboy says he wants a ride in the Popemobile"

There's going to be an awful lot of over excited priests at that 'buffet', and that choir boy should be careful what he wishes for !!!

Nuff said
Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved

It's O.K. he'll forgive himself when he says he's sorry - without fingers crossed.
  • How much is it costing the taxpayer for the visit.? When the pope came to Sydney for catholic world youth day in July 2008 the NSW and Australian Governments coughed up millions in security etc etc. When you visit Rome and see the stupendous wealth of the church it does make you wonder....

    £12 million I think.

Catholic Church paying approx 50% so I heard, the rest falls the Uk taxpayers.

Why the Church (with all it's riches) can't pay the lot, beats me.... :(

I ve been interested by my total lack of interest in this event, as a non-militant atheist and sceptic Ive been told i'm supposed to be outraged!!

does anyone know how much it costs to police your average football match an who puts up the cash for those? I ask out of interest only!

Home team pays all police costs. I do remember reading that a "smaller" premiership team paid more than a "bigger"team did. Can't remember who the teams were now but its not a standard charge.

It was 'the Arse' and Spurs respectively... :D

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

It was Wigan and they refused to pay for a while. The police were taking the piss with their charges.
