Hi
Me and a mate have just completed a sponsored bike ride and were wondering if anyone else had done the same route? We started at Workington at 09.45 and finished at Roker (Sunderland) 20hrs and 45mins later, at 06.30.
We made up the route ourselves and it went a bit like this:
Workington> Cockermouth> Bassenthwaite> Whitewater dash> Skiddaw House> Threlkeld> Old Coach road> Pooley Bridge> Askham fell> Dufton> High Cup Nick> Cow Green reservoir > St. johns chapel > Stanhope> Crawleyside Bank > Waskerley Way all the way to Roker.
The total distance was 128 miles and we were doing it to raise money for Cancer research and the Great north Air ambulance (details here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gi ... 2571746261 )
We completed the route on singlespeeds (we fealt it needed to be a challenge  )
I would be interested to know if anyone else has done this route, and how did you get on?
Cheers.
