    Saw this yesterday.

It left me with sweaty palms
  •

I felt dizzy just watching that! If I intend to get over 1,700 above sea level I'll do it on a mountain. With my bike :-)

Not so much the height, as the lack of safety line is what bothers me. One slip, and they need a spatula.

I alternated between holding my breath and feeling nauseous, and doing both at the same time. Is watching this video good immersion therapy for those with a fear of heights (like me)? Or will it just make things worse?

Or need the loo......I'd imagine a no.1 is just about doable (as long as your mate underneath is clear) but a no.2 could be tricky...........

Having said that I'm sure there are some people that look at cyclist descending off mountains at 50-60mph and think they are insane, balls of steels types tho :-)

How long does it take to get up and down? I think I'd be tempted to take up BASE jumping, just to cut an hour off my evening commute...

Well that clip was 7 grueling minutes and it looks like he's already fairly high up!

I have a good mind to show this those people who complain about having to get a lift to the 18th floor at one office I work at and how much time they "waste" each day ;-)

  • I feel pretty sick just watching this... I'm having all sorts of fear reactions, massively increased heart rate, clammy hands, nausea...

I can't hear the sound, not well anyway, my PC's only got the speaker inbuilt in the tower. Somebody tell me he has a safety line for that climb or something?

    LiT

It is freeclimbing, with a 30lb tool bag.
his climbing partner is now holding the tool bag, to keep it from swinging and knocking him off balance

I wouldn't want to do that job.

I liked the top-rated comment on the version of the video I saw the other day:
The video mentions a 30 pound sack that's attached to him during the climb. I assume that's his balls.

I used to go climbing but this is one of the worst Youtube experiences I've ever had. I hated painting the top of my foul pipe - the eaves are about 2 and a half stories height and leaning out on the ladder to get the height to reach the top of the pipe was the most unpleasant thing I've done on the house. That vid is my worst nightmare........

Somehow doesn't look as scary any more!!

I did go on something a bit like that in Mallorca. Ended up on an aqueduct - Canalleta de Massenella. About 3 feet wide. I got about half way across and chickened out and went back

  • Jaysus. Felt proper queasy watching that.

Those boys *must* have parachutes on, surely.

Please, tell me that they have parachutes on. Please?
