Edinburgh bike Cuillin, cheap but it works. Ideal for walking the dog as I live in the country with great paths, tracks & woods literally at my back door.

  • Ive got a 2006 Giant XTC-SX, i couldnt be without it as i dont think my Scott CR1 would take kindly to going down rough tracks through the woods very much, if you only ride on the road your missing out on a whole load of byways, bridleways , forest tracks etc to ride on, when i,m out on my road bikes i,m always on the lookout for new tracks to ride my MTB on, and riding it on the road it feels like a big comfy armchair compared to the CR1.

Yeah, got an '07 Orange Evo8, and an old Merlin frame in bits in the shed - really should put it back together as a pub bike.

Not sure I'm a real roadie yet. The idea was to get a road bike 'just to improve fitness for the mtb'. It worked, only problems is that I've probably only been on the Orange half a dozen times in the last year...

First one was a Saracen Blizzard with Exage groupset - 1989 I think. Now using a relatively ancient '97 GT, mostly for the tag-along and longer off-road routes around Cannock Chase with miniRon.

I recently put some sus front forks on it...not sure whether that was such a good idea though as it now weighs more than ever and it's a b***er on loose, steep ascents.

The thing that make me laugh is that they're all so damned clean. Having started back with MTB's, I can say (not sure if its with pride or shame) is that my roadie is as clean as an MTB should be !
  • Just bought a Kona Kula deluxe from Wiggle and I love it!. Even with postage and customs brokerage fees still saved at least $1000 on a similar specced bike in Australia.
  • Scott Scale RC and a Trek Fuel EX, both blinged with XTR, Redmetal, ZTR Olympic, Fox, etc etc.
  • I've got my priorities right. I'm a mountain biker who has a road bike on the side.
