Right, if you are from around the Doncaster you would had heard of Steetley and Steetley Quarry. Its a wasteground of the quarry which is still operational, however after around 5 or more years (never knew it before that) of the quarry owners not caring, it has become a extreme biking place and has connections to the trans pennine route. It has Freeride drops, jumps and other dirt jumps. However the quarry owners have now decided to reuse it as a dumping ground and in the process are destroying the quarry and also as the dh track in the woods uses the thin fireroad and the access is direct to the quarry, it is also adjusting the dh tracks. The area has been a mountain biking mecca for riders in doncaster over the past couple of years and it will be sad to see the quarry gone.

One the other hand....
You could be thankful for 'around 5 or more years' of uninterrupted trespassing and move on ?0 -
You should start a new quarry next door and make it more rad than theirs, that will make them jealous and then they'll think you're awesome0

How do you demolish a quarry? It's a hole in the ground."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

You tell people you're demolishing it and not to go in for 100,000,000,000 years, then go to the pub0 -

We used to ride Steetly on motorbikes 28/30 years ago.The owners turned a blind eye back then so it's not been a bad run 8)0

It was a dumping ground for limestone from the surrounding quarries and now they're going to start quarrying the limestone back out!0
