    Topeak wedge saddle pack.

In this I can fit, with ease, co2 inflator with 2 canisters, small multi-tool, 2 innertubes, tyre levers.

And I always carry a mobile, just incase.
  • Need panniers surely?

Mini tool kit and possibly two larger most used allen keys.
    Puncture repair kit, levers
    Mini pump
    Inner tube
    Folding tyre
    Waterproof top/bottom, gloves, overshoes
    Gillet and jacket
    Lights and spare batteries
    Spare set of socks
    Mobile phone
    Wallet
    Keys
    Food
    Water
    50" plasma TV
    Say... That's a nice bike..
Trax T700 with Lew Racing Pro VT-1 ;-)
  • yeah i was looking at those, and then getting a combined mini pump co2 inflator (if it will fit)
  • Get a tag along trailer. Then you can have a whole spare bike immediately available, like the pros, if you gt a flat, or a nasty squeeky noise. :)

  • I use a Specialized wedge bag for under the saddle and in it I carry the following:

3 x Park plastic tyre levers
    1 x multi tool
    1 x innner tube
1 x puncture repair kit (in case I get more than one puncture)
    1 x CO2 nozzle
    2 x CO2 cannisters
Mobile phone with a cab tel number stored in it

The heaviest item is the multi tool which is not a lot so weight is not an issue.

For long rides I have a Fizik medium bag (with strap not ICS clip). I fit in it:

1x multi tool with tyre levers
    1x puncture repair kit
    1x CO2 nozzle
    3x CO2 cannisters
    2x inner tubes
Assorted bits such as zip ties, tyre boot, KMC missing link, coupld of quid

Weighs a fair bit, but covers most eventualities!
  • Specialzed Wedgie Pak

    multi Tool with chain breaker
    set of tyre levers
2 x inner tubes as well as some scabs
    three quid
    cable ties
    missing link

    Jobs a gud un !

I found a wife to be quite handy for this. Set off with just the bare bones for emergencies (puncture o/fit, pump, cash, phone) and in the unlikely event that the bike suffers sudden catastrophic failure having worked almost flawlessly for the last 3500 miles, I'll phone her up. My bet is that it can do 110 miles without falling to bits though.

If you haven't got a wife, someone else's will do.

Edit - in case you dismiss this as flippant, I learnt the long way round that lugging enough spares & tools to rebuild a bike around England for 7, 8, 9 hours at a stretch and never once using them is in the end pointless and counter-productive. Have faith in your steed [and wife]. When did it last fail you?

I have this one which carries every thing you would need and comes with or without a built in mini tool kit. Very good.

Agree with (most of) the above. I would add a pair of disposable gloves too. I pack 'em because I've got nice white tape on the bars and want to keep it that way. Well, whitish anyway...

    ^^^ what they said!

Plus I carry 3 or 4 baby wipes wrapped up in a piece of clingfilm to clean my hands.

The alcohol wipes nicked from the house first aid kit take up no space and clean very well too.

KFC do the wipes in the little packets which are pretty useful.
