X.0 Grip shift

Hello,

I've got X.0 grip shift on a couple of bikes. On the left hand/front shift they are different. One of them has three index clicks and the other has got a lot of intermediate clicks which makes it more tunable when riding.

Can I do anything to the 3 click shifter to make it more tunable?

    All X.0 ones should have lots of clicks, all the ones I've ever seen have, that's half the advantage.

    You could theoretically file some more notches into the other one, not something I'd want to do though!

    The left hand one is for your front derailuer... which has 3 cogs.

    Very good... but part of the advantage of Grip Shift is that it has many intermediate clicks, the X.0 one I've got on my desk has 8 clicks, so you can 'trim' the front mech to stop it rubbing.

    It's strange that one of mine has only got 3!!!

    Have they always come with Micro-indexing? Could my 3 click one be and old one that the shop had knocking about?

    Nope, even the really old ones I've had, when they were carbon effect rather than grey still had the intermediate clicks! Seems rather odd.

    Just had this reply from the shop that I got it from:

    Hello
    There have been various versions of the grip shift over the years we have stock of the 2009 version and these only have teh 3 clicks I am afraid.
    This should work perfectly when set up though.

    That's very odd indeed, the ones I got in 09 still have 8, must have been a late change. How rubbish, wonder why they'd do that. You can buy the pair I've got here if you want!?
