Hi all,
I'm new to road cycling & trying to get an idea of where I stand (read: how far I am behind) speeds of more experienced cyclists. Over a 20mile course (fairly bumpy but no big hills) I can manage ~17mph average & I can get up to 35-36mph in a sprint.
Question...
What is the usual (approximate) peloton & sprint speed for
1) decent amateurs/clubs
2) sort of people you get competing seriously in UK events
3) international top pros
cheers !!!

2) approx: 20-24mph sprint: 35-45 mph
3) approx 30 mph sprint: 60-70 kmph
That's only a rough estimate, anyone who's got more accurate figures might be more useful...Carrera Vanquish....0 -
might be an idea to do a search, for some reason this kind of topic comes up almost every day and there are probably several hundred similar threads already on here somewhere...0
