Toe clip straps shredded!

They snapped today on only their second outing! Nylon ones off ebay so not exactly expensive gear. Is this common or have I not fitted them right??

not unheard of, try clip in pedals to avoid the issues of toeclips...

impossible to tell if you've fitted them right, unless you actually describe how you fitted them.
