Hello there, are there any good DH/FR places near guildford that are easy to get to either by train or bike?
I'm having fun exploring the downs and surrey hills, but they are, so far at least, quite tame.

Cheers.

  • Not blessed down here in the deep South are we?!

Other than Swinley over in Bracknell, QE park near Petersfield only Surrey Hills springs to mind.

There's some stuff on Leith Hill, and an increasing amount appearing on the North Downs, Simon from Nirvana Cycles in Westcott is getting very into jumpy/DH type stuff, I'd go out on one of their rides.

Thanks, i will keep exploring the area, swinley and QE are easy enough to get to too so i will check them out. And if there is a train station near chicksands (i think the closest is 7 miles away, could be a bit tricky to do on a big bike) then thats another on the list.
  • Try the west side of Pitch Hill, lots of steep tracks that feed out onto the bridleway between Walking Bottom & Quarry car parks. Other than that, Leith Hill or Ranmore down to Abinger Hammer might float your boat...
