Spesh Allez Comp vs Cannondale CAAD 8 105

Have given up on the idea of full carbon. The bike is going to get used for commuting a lot so carbon seemed like overkill. Still want something nice though so I've narrowed it down to these two. I'm leaning towards the Spesh, especially if I can get the price nearer £900.

Both good choices but if I was looking at a Cannondale I'd go with the Tiagra equiped CAAD9 instead of the 105 equiped CAAD8. I could not find a Black CAAD9 in the size I needed so opted for the Uber-comfortable Spesh Allez Comp - in Stealth Bomber Black of course.
Another option at good VFM at the moment is the Spesh Secteur Comp (RRP 1300quid - available for 999quid)Can I upgrade???0 -

Damn that 105 CAAD9 is tempting - pity I've already done the deal on the Spesh. Ah well.
No worries - as I have a short instep and the Spesh's angled top-tube allows me to stop at Traffic lights astride the bike without my family jewels being compromised ;-)Can I upgrade???0 -

Another reason I'm edging towards the Allez is the sloped top tube. Also makes me think i'd prefer the Caad 8 over the Caad 9. The geometry is slightly friendlier on the 8 and I'm not enough of a connoisseur to notice the performance difference of the two frames.
Am trying a few bikes out, including these two, on Saturday. I'll let you know what I decide. Thanks again.0 -

Bought the CAAD 8 today for £799. Absolutely love it already. 20 mile journey home was the most enjoyable I've ever had on a bike. Love it!
