Very serious and unpleasant. I've just read in Tuttobici that he is very unlikely to make it and the doctors are due to make a descision about switching off life support.

Awfully sad.

    Goodness. I saw they cancelled which was the right decision but didn't know it was that bad. I hope he is able to make it.

    Thomas has been declared brain dead and his life support is being turned off.

    His parents have given permission for his organs to be donated.

    Such a tragedy.

    It was initial reported as being a fatal accident, then it was revised.
    Clearly his injuries were so bad that there was no hope.

    Thankfully this kind of accident is relatively rare despite the speed of races and the number of miles covered a year.
