  • Morning, today will be composed of the normal meh probably with an extra helping of meh on the side. meh
  • Good Morning Freaks!

Today, I have mostly been falling off my bike. Embarrassingly so…lost my footing dismounting in the underground car park at work and ended up on the floor with the bike on top of me. I’ll have a nice graze/bruise down my shin from the pedal – thankfully I ride in SPDs not flats, so at least there’s some flesh left.

Rest of the day will be filled with lots of meh and looking out of the window to see what the weather’s doing and more importantly which way the wind’s blowing for the ride home.

    Morning all!

Today I am invoicing at work....how boring...but as I have about an hours work to do for the whole day, leaves me plenty of time for skiving.

Feel like learning something today.....don't know what though!

  • Morning all,

Saw my dream bike reduced from 2800 to 1650 on sunday.. Most upsetting since i can't afford it till early next year. Even looked into an interested free credit card to cover it so i can sort it over a year but Nooooo lol.

Might be worth checking the local ditches to see if she's lying there with her head pulled backwards....

    Alton towers? AWESOME!
All my friends claim to be "too old for that" :( Boring tankers.
  • Morning all,

The offspring didn’t wake up at half 5 this morning! Today is already off to a good start. He woke up at 7, about the same time as me.

Not much to report from the weekend. Did the Evans ride with the brother, 26 miles, he was a bit of a mess by the end but he did it so props to him. According to bike hike it was about 3600ft of climbing. Sunday I managed to get the house to myself for the afternoon so sorted out a few bits from the day before, patched up a tyre (flatted 3 miles in) and chilled out in front of the F1. For those that don’t yet know the result, turn your monitors off for a few seconds……….. Shame Button couldn’t hold off, made Lewis look a little silly at least that’s for sure. As someone at work pointed out, if Vettel could run that long without stopping then why couldn’t Button?

No major plans for the day, probably should do some work, just to prove that I was in today.

    Is it 5 yet?

 She may have buried herself of her own accord, she's not the best driver  I've had to tell her off several times for using the phone whilst driving

Very good point. i think Button was fighting a loosing battle holding off alonso but that could of just won him the race?

Morning. After having my first 5 hour shift yesterday, I've just had a phone call to tell me that we sold too many bikes over the weekend, and they need me to go in this evening to build bikes for 4 hours, because they need to be ready for tomorrow. Suits me.

Problem is, I'd put my work clothes in the washing machine just before they called, meaning I now have an epic race against time set up to get them dry...

You have two options that I can see

    1. Wear them wet.

    2. Go in naked.

    I think option 2 is a must.

    Morning!

In Holland, nice weather. Went for a little bike back from the car park this morning when I shifted my car across town. Biking's quite fast when you're on a commutery roadie thing, there's big seperate bike paths, we're lacking potholes and there's no hills. Zoom.

someone needs to show the Dutch how to build 'proper' bike paths...

That'd involve making big hills and stuff though :(

I'm gonna go for a proper long ride on Thursday I think. This lack of hills is a novelty for me. I'm sure it'll get dull fast, but I need some way to not put any more weight on and actually keep vaguely fit. Went round Cannock with Callum t'other weekend and I coughed up a lung or three. Not good at all!
  • IIRC, it's very windy in Hollandland? Riding against gale force winds, even on the flat, will help build up your fitness.

It usually is, but no more so than Yorkshireland I think :)

No matter! I'll just leave it in a bloody high gear and go as fast as I can. Produce my own wind... Well, more than normal.

Are you actually in Holland? Or just another part of the Netherlands?

Groningen until this afternoon, Gelderland after that. So no, not in Holland per se - it's just easier to type than the Netherlands, smartarse ;) Very few people care about the distinction and there's no actual province called 'Holland'.
