Yeah I know what you mean, lots of gorgeous new bikes and kit, so much to look at. :)
I think I'll have tired feet tomorrow.

I just hope I can resist the retail section at the show.

List time I went my OH made me leave the credit card at home  I am lloking forward to new bike shopping if I ever get this settled, hopefully it will be sooner rather than later

Clu - glad your on the mend, I know that junction well, it's not somewhere that it hidden etc, so the driver is obviously a complete cock.

Valy - we might as well be invisible as soon as the lyvra goes on eh :(

I got knocked off on Barrow Road and hern lane, I was at the end of a 40 mile fast ride and had been going well with 1 race to go till my season was over, I was approaching a Hern Lane on my right and glanced over my shoulder to check for cars, one was approx 50 yrds behind me so I indicated to turn right and moved to the centre of the road by the white lines, as I started my turn I was hit from behind by a driver trying to overtake me a the mouth of the junction, he was on the wrong side of the road. I ended up on the floor with the bike about 15 ft away from me. I was lucky as my helemt is in a couple of pieces.

    Heal well both 8)

bloody hell, some posts here that scare the crap out of me. If the wife read them I imagine my bikes would be sold whilst I was at work.

Did the impact on your head feel strong?

The impact I cannot remember as it all happened too quick, as the pain in my arm/back/shoulder was agony almost straight away, I did have a sore neck and a small lump on my head for a couple of weeks after though. I am looking at it that the helmet saved me from a more serious injury, who knows what?

    I see.

Seeing the condition of the helmet - either way, I think it's hard to argue against it! :P

    Why not?

Lots of good advice here re BC, CycleAid, Alyson France etc. all of whom will really only want to help if you pursue an injury claim. They need to make a profit - someone has to pay them and they will not recover their costs if there is no injury claim (with a value of £1,000+) or damage only of £5,000+.

You are entitled to compensation for your injuries and other losses if the accident was due to the negligence of the driver, which appears to be the case.

I'm pleased to hear you are pursuing a claim.

No matter how often I have the same conversation with my clients, they will say they would far rather not suffer the injury in preference to receiving compensation, the fact remains that they are injured and should be suitably compensated.

That's not the same as the so-called 'compensation culture' seeking to claim for 'nothing'.

I sincerely hope you get the right result, but more importantly that you make a full and speedy recovery - I came off 18 months ago (no-one else involved) and suffered a fractured clavicle. It hurst, and ocassionally still does, so I fully empathise with you Let's hope you fix soon.
