Chain slipping under pressure

I currently have a new crankset, new cassette and new chain and can get the gears to change fine. The problem arises when I get on the bike - if I pedal hard the chain slips and jumps gears on its own. It cant be that anythings worn as its all new, so what could it be? Is it likely to be a problem with the rear derailleur as thats a good 5 years old now?

so compress the suspension and watch the mech. does it move?
if yes your routing is wrong or too short."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Nope doesnt move the mech at all, sorted that problem in an earlier thread
If I pedal gently, ie not up a hill then it doesnt happen, its only when I put effort in that it skips meaning I cant go anywhere more than 2mph0 -
I had a similar problem when I replaced the chain cassette and cranks on my bike, one of the links in the chain was really stiff and would slip when it went through the derailler and round the cassette, especially when on the smaller cogs.
To cure it I just gave the chain a good oil and it fixed itself.
FYI it was a SRAM pc-991 cross step0 -
