My ebay Barracuda - first road bike

I wanted a road bike to cross train for my running. I already had a heavy MTB. I'm hooked now, and looking at entering some duathlons and maybe the London to Paris. I stripped this down to the frame and repaired/rebuilt where possible, or upgraded parts via the bikeradar sales forum. Very little was bought new. I've learnt a hell of a lot about maintaining bikes now.

Next big buy will be a frame that fits better!

Well if you've stripped it down to bare metal, that's a cracking job. Looks like a lot of time and effort has gone into that, nice one!

Unfortunately not! Frame is clear anodised Al.

I'm trying to get rid of all the decals and other sticky bits still on it.

I'd turn the Yellow into Black.

Updated to show what else I have done to my bike. Next upgrade will be the brake calipers, and a re-fit to get me lower (with my tri bars).

It took alot of elbow grease, white spirit and heat to de-sticker the frame. Job done!

Turning your stem over (to point down rather than up) would get you quite a bit lower if that's your aim.

a few months ago & im just curious.
