Take it to another shop for another opinion...
  • A quick google suggests some early ones did come with an FSA headset. Creaks on a bike are very hard to pin down - out of interest is there something other than the creaking that makes you think the headset is faulty ?

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
  • well i'v changed all the bits one by one so that only leaves the headset or the dredded a faulty frame i'v also put carbon paist on all the contact points ie anything that comes into contact with the frame
  • what i did do is i took the bike to another well known shop they told me that some bikes do creak and they dont know why but i dont expect this from a bike that cost me over £3000 to build it should be silent
  • yes dropouts as well i paisted everywere
  • My 595 is an '07 model, and it doesn't tighten up any differently from my other integrated headsets. For what it's worth, the headset it takes is this one:

  • Oil your skewers ...
.. who said that, internet forum people ?

Same as on my 585 I think.

Provided the headset is of the right type (and there are effectively only two types of 1-1/8" types - Cane Creek and Campagnolo) it shouldn't matter what brand it is, as they are pretty well all made by TH Industries anyway.

bet its transmission tbh. have you checked the chainring bolts ? bottom bracket ? pedals ? (axles can creak). Could also be contact points...check the bars and stem...carbon paste on the contact areas can sort out creaking...did for me !
  • yes done all that paisted everywere had it back in shop today they told me that theyve got to send it to france let them have a look at it as it could be a problem with the frame or forks :(
  • gutted gutted gutted it's probalbly the best bike i'v ever rode too hoo hoo

hum....mate had the bottom bracket shell "break" away on his 595....Look simply sent him a new frame ...after over a year...can't complain ! Ive had no probs with my 586 so maybe theres a prob with the 595's....bet your gutted but look on the bright side you may get a brand spanking new one :D
  • My (considerably less expensive) bike had a creak when riding out of the saddle. I tightened the bolts on the stem plate. Creak gone.
