Taper BB to UT/BB30

Is it possible to fit different a BB and chainset to a standard frame with standard BB tube? Just wondering eventually standard BB/chainsets will come hard to find (and probably expensive) so great if I can replace it later. This one is in my tourer.

The bike shop gave me one Centaur BB, and I could not thread it (felt a little too big did not thread in) gave me another one and that went in ok. So I assume the first one was Italian, and the second was British? Frame is Orbit Helium.

Would the Kinetic BB in my Giant OCR be British too? On the Giant website it says Kinex 68-110mm. I thought all triple BB are 115.5?

    The Taiwan-made Giant will have an English/BSA bottom bracket shell.

    I guess the Orbit has an English BB shell as well.

    110mm is too short for a triple, so I guess it was a simple website mistake.
