Hi There
I've got a Cannondale Rush 6 with RockShox Recon 327 Solo Air forks. I haven't ridden the bike in 2 months and when I got it out to ride the travel on the forks is about 40mm (not the usual 120mm)
I've not had a accident on it
The bike is about 18 months old (and forks)
Its kept in a shed (but not damp)
I've tried pumping the forks up and down
I've let the air out and pumped it up the required psi and have tried adjusting the rebound
If anyones got any advice or has had the same problem and fixed it, it would be great to hear from you
Thanks

Are the forks fully extended, but only travel 40mm, or are packed down to 40mm left?0

Thanks for the reply
Currently only 40mm
also have tried pulling forks out (ie trying to extend the forks manuallly)
I thought maybe they're jammed - going on a ride tomorrow so they may fix themselves?
Not sure if its any help but there is 130mm of gold fork leg visible

sorry...packed down to 40mm0

sorry, i'm being thick...
To explain..when I push the forks down they travel about 40mm then come back - but they don't feel plush, they seem just springy
Sorry for the confusion

This could be the problem I was describing in the 'Tora oil' thread - basically the valve that equalizes the positive and negative air chambers is sticking, so all the air is in the neg chamber, sucking the fork down.
The fork needs a service really - cleaning and lubing as in the service manual usually cures it.0 -
Ah, if that is the case then sounds like a damper leak into the lower leg. The damper needs servivng and o rings replacing.0

Thanks for that
Before I take the plunge - could this really happen after only approximately 20 rides?
I'm not even that hard on the bike either
also when you say 'damper leak' do you mean internally? as there no sign of any bfluid on the outside
Thanks0 -
Yep, leaks from the upper leg into the lower and causes a hydaulic lock.
But if not old, contact the dealer for warranty work.0 -
Dear Supersonic
Many thanks for all the advice and help
Have a good weekend!0
