Gear problem

I am having problems with shifting down gears on the cassette.
It shifts up ok but just doesn't want to go down. It has got deore group set with SLX derailleur (not shadow).
Cable is new and well lubed. Mech is well lubed. Mechanic at local Halfords (desperate times) straightened the mech hanger, could it still be slightly bent? Would this cause these symptoms?

The outers in wich the cable runs, are they new? Does the cable runs smoothly?
Is the mech spring in place?0 -
Cable is super slick. Mech looked ok. When I say it has problems shiftiing down I mean chaning to lower ratio so moving up the cassette.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

As far as I know there's no such thing as a non-shadow slx rear der...0

On the rear handle bar shifter there is an adjuster that you pull out and turn to adjust the cable tension...it sorted a similar problem for me.0

It just says SLX on it. I just thought it wasnt shadow. It's not cable tension causing the problemTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Local shop got it shifting this morning. Still not as sweet as it was, mechanic wasn't sure why. Think I will try fitting an XT mech and see if that helpsTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
