  • I think cycle helmets would make excellent salad spinners.

    I might buy one.

    Ahhhh.....a helmet thread.
This post contains traces of nuts.
  • I reckon you could make a small hanging basket from one.

My old one could possibly have been used to wage chemical war against a moderate sized army.

Suspect the holes might be too big, but some reasonably fine mesh would sort that out - nice idea tbh.

That is! You could grow salad in a cycle helmet and spin it in one!
  • "Helmeted cyclists have more fatal accidents than unhelmeted ones"

    Is that a fact?

    Proportionally or just actual amount?

I'm worried - I wear a helmet - I'm just waiting for the bugger to kill me now.

Perfect. If it was a fancy helmet, maybe it could also act as a serving bowl.

We may have REVOLUTIONIZED salad here.

I'm off to buy my rerrari

I took a while to figure this out, but are you admitting you have a very smelly helmet?
Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.

I find mine very handy as a little basket to carry my tool pack, shades, mitts etc. when off the bike....

I use mine as an impromptu basket in Aldi or LiDL until I find a suitable empty carton. Neither supply baskets and I can't stand pushing trolleys around supermarkets.

I use one of these each day depending on how I feel.

Then I get the benefit of wearing a lid and actually being safe whilst people think I'm not wearing a helmet so I'm statistically safer (yeah right!)

  • Helmets have their uses.
On one occasion I got home from work & went to put the bike in the garage. I opened the "up-and-over" door and was wheeling the bike in when my cat leapt from the top of the fence to the open garage door, bringing it down on my head. V. glad I was still wearing the helmet...

Mine regularly protects my head when I bang it on the garage door. I also find it to be a very handy place to keep my gloves, cap, glasses and computer, both on my desk at work and next to front door.

I've be lost without my helmet.

Look, somebody always has to take things too far, don't they?

A fun, amusing thread to relieve the tedium of the "proper' "debate" in the other section.

And somebody comes along (I'm Looking at YOU, Brun) and gets all offensive.

    I've reported your post.

Keep meaning to ask - from your profile, have you changed jobs/locations?

Evidence? 1) a vague memory that the SCR racetrack used to end elsewhere

    2) you can't spell the name of your new location yet......

First time you did that (and every time since) you shoud've replaced it!

Anyway, maybe if you weren't wearing it you'd be more careful (or being a couple of inches shorter you might miss the door altogether).

If you find yourself catching diseases from a lady's helmet you might want to consider just how much of as lady she actually is.
