I was cycling through Streatham at around 10pm this evening, and a long stream of traffic indicated something was amiss. I got to the front of it to find a crowd, police cars, an ambulance, and a lone bicycle with what appeared to be slightly bent forks lying in the road. I didn't hang around, but one of the policemen on the scene said it was "serious" in a fairly grim tone. It actually shook me up a lot more than I thought it would.

The bike was a red aluminium road bike, but I didn't catch the make. I don't think it had lights, but I can't be sure as it only occurred to me afterwards.

I hope whoever it was is alive and makes a full recovery.
