Peak District to Yorkshire Dales

I'm cycling through the Peak District and round The Yorkshire Dales, starting this Saturday. I'm staying at Crowden YH on Saturday then heading to Malham on Sunday and returning to Crowden on Tuesday.
I was planning to go from Crowden to Malham on the Lancs side and return on Yorks side. Does anyone know any good routes or know whch roads to avoid?
