Last night I was riding about Anglezarke way in the Bolton/Chorley area when I heard yet another spoke sheered at the nipple on the back wheel. This has happened twice now and it is now beyond even a slight smile. I got off, swore at it and proceeded to ponder my options.
As I stood grumbling at the roadside one cyclist stopped and asked me what the problem was, then another did the same! Of course there was nothing they could do but I do appreciate the fact that they both stopped; so whoever you were fellas, thanks!
I got home, albeit rather slowly with a buckled rim. Annoyingly it'd had been a wonderful ride up until that point and I was extremely disappointed. I doubt I'll be buying anything Scott related again as I have had nothing but problems with this machine pretty much from day one. I now get the feeling the creeking I had before will re-occur, so it may be time for new wheels. Incidently they're Alexrims Race 28 built onto Scott hubs - I think I have a defective backwheel - damned if I can make the LBS see that.
Anyhoo thanks again to those fellas who stopped!
