Hey everyone,
Starting to take my cycling a little more seriously than just plodding around the streets and one thing ive read about in various places is having your bike set up for you! When i bought my Allez 18 months ago it was from Evans, and whilst they were great, the chap literally raise the saddle and said 'there you go'
Now id like to get a proper bike fitting and am wondering where people can suggest? Its likely to be next payday, but from what ive read, can be very beneficial! Anyone got any recommendations and also what kind of price it will cost? Im based in Ashton Under Lyne.
Cheers

I'd highly recommend you take a trip down to Adrian Timmis at www.cadencesport.co.uk
Well worth the journey, an absolute mine of information and it includes custom moulded footbeds which are amazing!
Some people recommend Paul Hewitt but I've also heard a few people were not happy.
There is also the Specialized BG fit, not sure where the nearest one to there is, possibly Chester? Dunno of much feedback.
It's well worth travelling afar for a good fit. I'd have travelled overnight now I know how good my fit was...0 -
I rate Paul Hewitt very highly. I've had two bikes from him and have been delighted with the service. I think if you were to put his name into the search engine here, you would find 99.9% very positive feedback.0

Thanks guys, ill be sure to check them both out!
My main reason for wanting a bike fitting is due to knee pains ive been experiencing. During both the Manchester - Blackpool and the Manchester 100 mile rides, ive experienced quite some pain in both knees. As i want to really ramp up my training over the winter to help me lose weight and maybe get fit enough to join a club, and the fact i have now bought some clipless pedals/shoes i think its the perfect opportunity to have my bike set up properly!0 -
I had knee and lower back pain. During my fit it was discovered I had a leg length discrepancy and leg tracking issues. This was sorted by Adrian through the use of the moulded footbads and cleat shims...
The result? Bliss.0
