Always worth going to see pro cycling in person if you get the chance. You may not see much, but it's something different. You can watch cycling on TV any day - but very few chances to see it live - especially at this level.

slightly off topic, but volunteered to help marshall the Burslem start.
Its Thursday, stage is Sunday.. not heard diddly since registering.
Its Stoke council who need the marshalls but you have to go via the Tour organisers otherwise it's 15 references and a CRB check .. well almost...
I am not busting a gut to chase 'em...
might well be Meerbrook again this year...

    LOL!
I don't live that far away just don't know the area at all.
  • Won't be able to see the race live in Stoke but I will be doing the Stoke tour ride so I don't mind too much.

I did have every intention of watching from Gun Hill but I'm off to Birmingham to do the Skyride with the family instead.

managed to double book myself by doing the bruntworth (?) sportive, but going to try & catch the end
  • Im going to Leek and making a ride of it. My other goal is to be on the telly later. Watch out for a mad sprinter chasing the pack in that area :D

Was pretty crap weather up at Deerplay KOM section, just managed to stop raining horizontally and blowing a gale before they came through. Plenty people turned out though :)

Anyone notice that there seemed to be more cops motorbikes and "peleton safety" motorbikes than actual racing cyclists
