Bar Shaker wrote:Interesting. Would you buy it because of the colour or something? Cycling Weekly didn't think the more expensive Focus Cayo Expert with Ultegra was up to the standard of the Boardman Pro.0

well it is very similar to £1600 boardman so can't see why it doesn't deserve a mention. Seems Bar Shaker is a little bit boardman fanboi lol. Why you mentioned focus cayo expert, not sram force like the boardman.
Only mention colour because I have a white roadbike already...Say... That's a nice bike..

OMG, I've been trolled.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
Boardman FS Pro0 -
only a fanboi automatically throws out troll word when someone has a debate lol.. Are the Boardman wheels available seperatly? For example Planet-X bundle Campag Khalsim which are lowest model in campag line, even for their upper end Campag bike. Yet my lower end/cheaper campag bike was supplied with Ventos (which are one up) And on some other makes, £2000 bike are supplied with Zondas.Say... That's a nice bike..

not sure what you mean. boardman is complete bike . like a cooking recipe, you can have the best ingredients but if the sheff is no good it wont be a good meal.0

The Bdmn Pro has these wheels

They are 400g lighter than the DTs on the Focus.
I have bought two of them this year, based on nothing but solid research. Of course I am a Boardman fan.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
Boardman FS Pro0 -
they are also welded rims. off centre rear rim, dt isnt.0

Ha, I wondered why my rear presta wasn't in the centre of the rim. Of course!!Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
Boardman FS Pro0 -
it reduces the dish off the spokes so they are more even left to right.0

My LBS put their noses up at the Boardmans  "cheap" I think the word he used. lol. can you get those WCS DS Wheels in the UK? Did consider Boardmans maybe look into it again. Shame Halfords never discount them on end of year.Say... That's a nice bike..

What is the seatube length on the medium? (center of BB to top of frame) Seems those wheels are good quality, hate when bikes come with bog standard wheels and getting Ultegra/Chorus/Force. For example
Record groupset....Khansim wheels
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBP ... olo-recordSay... That's a nice bike..

the dimensions are in the hide/spec click at the bottom.
lbs seem to say that. i think its because of the sales they have lost as a result. i think thyve sold something link 40k boardmans. my large is bang in the middle for 6ft rider.0 -
ta looks like medium is ok. Is the chainset and bb full bb30, or like the team replica with GXP chainset/GXP chainset, in a BB30 frame?Say... That's a nice bike..
Trax T700 with Lew Racing Pro VT-1 ;-)0 -
im sure its the full bb30 crankset. its also says bb30 force bb inb the spec. it think that was one of the upgrades. its semi compact frame with quite a long low reach.0
-
How does geometry differ to this one?
http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/bike-revie ... 1/384.html
Boardman is 1cm shorter frame.Say... That's a nice bike..
Trax T700 with Lew Racing Pro VT-1 ;-)0 -
thats 54cm top tube on the medium giant. medium boardman is 55.5 top tube.0
-
hmm bit more stretched ... got 10cm stem on mine at the moment, 1.5cm further away (I replaced the stock 12cm stem with 10cm)Say... That's a nice bike..

Ha! well i guess that discussion has moved on! Well anyway , today i bought my first road bike the allez comp 2010. Why did i go for that? Well ive ridden it and loved it, plus i got 2 years interest free credit even though it was in the sale, and the service at the shop was very good. I got pretty much kitted out with the salesman spending hours with me. Halfords dont do the credit, although perhaps i could have got that sorted elswhere. That facility meant i could get a better bike than an entry level bike, and i could spend my cash on good quality accesories and spd s etc.
Thanks for your help, and i cant wait until i get the bike!0 -
