Upgrading my Scott S30

Looking for a little advice on additional upgrades to my 2008 Scott S30. Already upgraded the saddle (Specialized Avatar) and wheelset (ROL Volant) which made a big difference in speed and comfort and was just wondering if any additional upgrades are necessary to the original components (mostly 105). I have two possible upgrades in mind which are the brakeset and crankset. The standard Scott Pro brakes are fine in dry weather but I've found that they are not totally reliable in wet conditions. Is this worth an upgrade to the 105 brakeset or is this a problem with all breaksets in wet conditions? And the standard TruVativ Elita crankset has preformed quite well but can I get more performance out of the hollowtech 105's? My riding is for conditioning and touring purposes only but I do like to ride as fast as I can for as long as I can. I've also been challenging myself with steeper and longer climbs. Is this all a waste of time or is this something worth looking at? 1,800 miles this season and counting. Thanks in advance.
