Lol @ 7kgs. They must tell you you weigh about 7st
Nice bike though, good spec choices, nice colour, and it's a frame I really like.0 -
stunning build mate - really like that.0

Thanks gents.
As noted in this Wiggle review (posted after I'd started specing and buying bits) there are a few gotchas:
http://reviews.wiggle.co.uk/7867/536004 ... eviews.htm
The rear tyre clearance round the chainstays is VERY tight. That said, a 2.35 in Kenda Smallblock fits in there with minimal extension of the adjustable dropouts, so there's a little room for manoeuvre. As the review notes though, you'd be screwed if you wanted something more aggressive in the same width.
I'm 6'5" so size-wise:
The frame's minimum seatpost insertion requirements (min 130mm into frame) are likely higher than most seatpost's minimum depths. Remains to be seen if I can get enough height with a 410mm post (which they tried to deliver today when, Sod's law, I was out having a spin on the bike ) That's one of the reasons I went with 180mm cranks for that extra cm.
And with the current stem/bar setup the cockpit feels a bit cramped. I might need to experiment a bit with longer stem and/or higher rise bar/stem combos too.
Oh yeah, and it feels a bit twitchy and the minute, I think the width of the bars is giving just a bit too much leverage so I might hack them down a cm or 2 either side.
That's the downside of pick-and-choose. You can't really tell how it's going to fit till it's built.
Of course now I need something I can cruise round town on too, and leave locked up without worrying as much as I would if the Pace was chained up. I'm thinking the cheapest Cannondale Bad Boy to be added to as and when I can be bothered.0 -

I'm thinking of getting an XL 325.5, as I'm 6ft5 too - don't suppose you could give me a mini review?
I want a long, low, slack bike, (which all the numbers point to) but I want to know how does it ride?0 -
shorter bars will make it more twitchyViner Salviati

Nice but I cant help thinking that you need white forks.....didnt the revs come in white?0

Lovely looking bike, that frame has some nice curves!
And yeah, cutting the bars down will make it more twitchy. You need wider bars!0 -
@dexter, if I'm entirely honest, I haven't used it enough over the winter to really give you a proper review. I do need to tweak the setup though so bear that in mind if you head down the same route. I definitely needed the longer (black, unfortch) seatpost which has helped.
I'll switch out the stem next then take another look at the bars bearing in mind what others have said.
@Stoo, I think the only white Revs I could find were lower spec. My initial build was going to have Fox 32 Floats ;but somebody pointed me towards some reviews that rated the Revs higher overall.0 -
Thanks for the Pm, nice bike that, no wonder I liked it!0

Nice bike, I have had a pace 506 for a while now and the Mrs has a pace 405, there is no doubt about it, pace make some very capable frames.
The only issue I had with the frame was the fact that it filled up with water on a wet ride and didnt drain. I found it was the little cut out at the top of the seat tube, it was cut at the back of the tube rather than the front, letting in winter water when riding, not the best idea by a British frame desinger for the wet British weather. That was my only gripe, appart from Pace's customer service was is probably the worst I have ever come accross.Niner Air 9 Rigid
