Why has the Hawkins topic been locked?

Just wanted to reply on that topic about the motorcycling idiot, but it appears to have been locked for no apparent reason.

We're not dealing with fundamentalist christian draconian mods here are we?

    Having attended a "Speed Awareness" course, think the speed topic very relevant.
    Also, having worked for the Police for 9 yrs, you learn a lot about speed eejits.

    And yet you lack the necessary reading comprehension to know that Hawking hasn't said God doesn't exist.

    If you want to have a topic about the moron on the motorbike, rock on. If you want to try to spark off another debate about religion vs. science, as you seemed to want to, use the existing 9 page thread.

    If you just want to make another crap joke that nobody else would enjoy, don't.

    Having watched "Hawkins Universe" last night, taped it too..he states, he doesn't think that the Universe was created by anyone. ie No God-like creator/figure.

    ( Think they tortured people years ago, for refusing to accept God created the Universe etc.
    There are many Religions older than Christianity, so who's God are we talking about?)

    The reference to "Hawkins, No", was the old character that was on the box, where he shouted loudly etc.

    Soooo, my comments weren't meant to upset you or any others who have religious beliefs, and I apologise if it came over that way. Sorry.

    But, the pratt on the motorbike, that a different matter entirely.

    Look, Hawkins doesn't believe in God, but he's never, not once stated that he wants to quash other people's religious beliefs.

    There is no God.

    Unless you want to move the goalposts by claiming 'God' means something completely different to what the Abhramic religions state.

    You could just claim that God is everything that we don't understand, although that is an incredibly weak argument to make, I prefer to think of it simply as things we don't understand rather than personifying concepts by calling them 'God'.
