Hi All
Been wanting a hardtail to go with my pitch for a while and was contemplating buying one but after a bit of research and some help and advice from people on here decided I would build my own
Decided to snap up a Ragley Mmmbop 18inch frame in blue from Chain Reaction Cycles whilst on sale.
Most of the parts have now arrived and should be able to start putting it together at the weekend. Going to get the LBS to put on the headset and forks and im planning to do the rest myself.
Some Pics:
18 Inch in Blue, gave some thought to the green but wife didnt like it and seeing as she agreed to me spending all this money blue it was.
Rockshox Tora 318 U-Turn Forks and a Superstar Bambino Reducer Headset. May at some point decide to put my Pikes on.
Full SLX Groupset from Merlin for £399 including Shimano MT15 Wheels
Shimano MT15 Wheels.
Raceface Ride XC Seat Post, Bars and 60MM Stem, Superstar white Lock on grips.
Still waiting for a few bits to arrive but time permitting im hoping to have it all built up in a few weeks. Cant wait to have it all put together and out for a blast

Looks good, thinking of an mmmBop myself and that's exactly the kind of kit I'd be building it ( Tora's and full SLX groupset from Merlin). What height are you? Apparently 18" is fine up to 6"2? You'll need to kepp us updated0

At £399 including wheels its cracking value, thanks to supersonic for pointing me in that direction. Im just under 6' so the 18inch should work out just fine, will update with pics as I go along. This is my first build so im sure ill have a load of questions.0 -
Lookin' good mate, look forward to seeing it finished. Groupset was a real bargain. How much did you pay for your Tora's (if you don't mind me asking)? BTW - which LBS do you use in MK?0

Tora's came from cyclebasket.com and were £155, Im going to be using Phil Corley to put the headset in and forks on. Great shop always helpful and friendly.0 -

Not been able to do much on the build today, wife had other ideas did however manage to make some room in the shed and fit the bottom bracket.
tomorrow however is another day0 -
Spent a few hours on the build today,so far its all going as planned with no nasty suprises or problems. Got both wheels completed, front chainset and derailleur on.
Starting to look more like a bike now, really pleased with the way its starting to look.

You'll get slated for having any more than two headset spacers
It's looking good. You gonna sticker it up?0 -

I was going to sticker it up but the frame came minus the decal set, Chainreaction were going to send me a set out but now tell me the decal set is discontinued. Offered me a £20 voucher instead. Emailed Ragley and asked them and the response was, If chainreaction dont have them we dont either Marvellous!!0 -
Good news, Ragley are sorting me some stickers
Got home from work today and fitted the brakes, hoping to have it all finished this weekend and out for a blast

I hope you're still taking the £20 voucher from CRC :twisted:0

Bikes now fully built up Took it out for a blast and am impressed so far.
Still got a few little bits ot tweaking to do and I think I need to cut the cables down a little more.
Undecided what im going to do with the decals when they turn up. Think I may just put a Ragley sticker on the headtube and leave the rest, I kind of like the simple clean look.
anyway so more pictures
A couple of pics of my Pitch Comp
And finally the bike shed
