I bought one from eBay for £12 - This One - does what it says on the tin & is perfectly good for a helmet cam.1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur

You shouldn't buy this webcam because it's not a webcam.
The webcam you should buy, should be a webcam.
If on the other hand you want a little digital video recorder, say for instance, for attaching to you or your bike for recording your commute etc.....then you should look for those...and not webcams.
For the helmet cam type digital video recorder, many people on here (maybe more so in the mountain bike side) really rate the Veho Muvi for about the same price.Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

Is that the one you used for the Old Kent Road video you uploaded this morning? If so, how have you mounted it - it must stick up like a periscope on the top of your helmet...0 -
I thought the point of webcams was that they looked at you, not away from you...0

To be honest, no! I also have an ATC5K which I had on my handle-bars...
The Mini DV (Veho Muvi clone) comes with a small mount which you can angle. I have it on the front of my helmet. Guess it does look a bit like a periscope though I would prefer to think of it as a rhino horn
I'll stick up a comparison video but I didn't have time to find a side-by-side video program today.1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur

I've now added the same stretch of road at the same time taken with the helmet mounted Mini DV

What's the reliability like of the Mini DV? Also, how much use can you expect until the battery completely dies and no longer holds a charge?0

2-3 hours is the quoted figure but the problem I discovered is that the camera is pretty resource hungry and devoured a 2Gb MicroSD in 20 minutes - at which point the camera turns off.
Max supported size is 32Gb so just make sure you have a decent sized SD card1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur
