First off congratulations to Jeff on his 17th place. Just a quick query on the points for this race - does anyone know why the rider who came 12th (James Wall) didn't get allocated any licence points as result? He's listed as a 4th cat so is it just that he would have only had a provisional licence so not eligible for points?

Quite possibly, I know when I have taken part in our club crits, and placed within the top 10 I haven't been given any points, and it is because I don't hold a full license.
Jeff did very well entering the senior event this year, well done Jeff.0 -
Not sure - I don't know all the ins and outs of BC points.
I actually had James Wall off a minute behind me. He caught me on the hill on the second lap, then seemed to lose a bit of steam, as by rights he should have ridden away from me on the long mostly downhill section. But I stayed ~100m behind him for the rest of the race, then eased up well before the finish b/c I didn't want to get in his way (and risk a possible DQ). Worth a couple of places but not too important in the scheme of things.
It was an absolutely fantastic race though and pretty special to be in the same category (not I hasten to add in the same league) as three Tour de France riders. The BTTC has assumed a lot more importance over the last few years as pros are eager to take the jersey. I'd say this year's elite fields - men and women - were the best ever.
I wouldn't mind giving the elites another go next year but that depends on whether I can get a UCI legal bike or not. The Specialized Transition in its current form won't be allowed at the BTTC next year. By rights the Pinarello Graal won't be allowed as well (seat stays are apparently not 3:1) but that'll depend on who's riding them...
And well done to SBezza for your excellent ride in the Kent 12hr. 276 miles and a course record on what sounded like a tough course is brilliant!Jeff Jones

I was watching on sunday at the top of the climb through llandeilo, just before the downhill towards HQ, Emma pooley absolutely flew up the hill! I managed to get a pic of pretty much every rider aswell. Awesome day.0

now there's cynical jeffconstantly reavalueating the situation and altering the perceived parameters accordingly0 -
