HI guys,
I was looking at the boardman pro model.............again the other day, and I asked the guy in halfruads if they ever got reduced in sales like the rest of the stock etc.....
His reply was that they do.....but only when the new model comes out, he went on to tell me that the new model is due out around december time, so expect them to get a reduction then,
my question is.........do the paint jobs actually change on them? as you all know i dont like the plain white job,
OR should i try to get a rediced one.......reason I am asking for is i am pretty sure that I seen somebody saying in another thread he had a 80 boardman

I've seen no details on the interweb about what the new Pro's will look like - seems Boardman are playing their cards close to their chest so far. All I know is that a revised range is due out later this year.
BTW what's a '80 Boardman'?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
I got the Pro FS for 1105 last week, 15% off. That was in a general bike sale rather than anything specific to Boardman.
I wonder if they'll be sticking to similar prices in the 2011 models, be interesting to see what they could do with a 2k budget seeing as the others are such great valuePlanet X N2A

There was no change between the 2009 and 2010 mtb models but the Sport was added in 2010 and the fi (ladies) specific bikes were added. In road bikes, the Team Carbon and Pro Carbon bikes were added in 2010. These have been a massive success and I would be surprised not to see new colours for all bikes and carbon Pro mtb bikes covered in top sepc SRAM kit for 20-30% more than the current Pro range. Its all guess work though as there is no word at all from Boardman and the stores have no info at all.
You should be able to get 15% off now, rising to 20% when the new models come out. Don't expect any more than that, unlike LBS sales the margins aren't there in the first place, hence the prices for this spec of bike.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

I work for Halfords and I don't want to go into to much detail, some staff will know more than others. Press release will be at Christmas and expect the stock to start arriving around feb. There are colour changes, finishing kit changes and wheel changes. Can't say more.Commuter: Saracen Vex '03 (Full XT drivetrain, Rockshox Tora 302 80mm, Conti Touring Plus..etc)
MTB Hardtail: Orbea Satellite - Team Colours '08 (Full XTR drivetrain, Reba Teams, XC717s - Hope Pro II, Fire XC Pro 2.1...etc).0 -
Also from above, the 15% does not apply to boardmans and there are never offers on boardmans until the last few stock.Commuter: Saracen Vex '03 (Full XT drivetrain, Rockshox Tora 302 80mm, Conti Touring Plus..etc)

I've got an 08 Boardman
It was one of only a few left in the country, mostly in obscure places like Aberdeen! They didn't actually realise they had it in the store I was buying from, so they'd been reducing the prices but it wasn't showing as 'in stock' online, which meant anyone using the website wouldn't see that the bike was there. As a result it hadn't sold and was down to £850 when I went in.
Then the chancellor cut VAT, which knocked some more off.
Then I paid for it using vouchers bought at 10% off (NHS discount).
So I paid something like £730 for it
So you probably can expect them to be reduced, but I'm not sure I'd wait, incase they're all sold.0 -
