Which 3rd party insurance does everyone have? I'm wondering whether to join LCC or CTC or if there are any other associations which offer 3rd party insurance for cyclists.... Which one is best to go for?

British Cycling, LVRC (if you're old enough).

Cheers. I'm 37, does that make me a vet? So which is best? BC, CTC, LCC. I don't race but may do a few sportives next year.

Nope, 40 for a vet. I've got BC as I needed to join in order to race anyway. The levels of membership and prices are here http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/membership/article/memst-new-what-members-get

Not sure how it compares to the others though.
  • Dang! LVRC is much cheaper but I'm not old enough....

My M &S Contents insurance gives me up to £2,000,000 personal liability insurance.
  • I joined CTC mainly for the £10m third party insurance but there are other benefits too including a decent bi-monthly magazine. Great value for £36 per year.

I'm with the CTC, chose them because I go on rides with the local group and they have a legal advice scheme as well.

I'm with CTC as well. Did however note that if you crash into another CTC rider and they claim through CTC then you won't be covered or something like that.....might need to have a little look through the policy documents again to confirm that, especially worrying if on a CTC ride as you know who everyone else is covered by!

Chubb House Insurance gives me (£5k price limit) of all risks on bike.

If bike is detailed in particulars then broker believes zero excess.
