Hi all,

I recently bought a Commencal Meta 55 Carbon frame and I need some advice on what tires I should go for. I'm looking for some light ones that will handle the autumn (read mud and wet).

Maxxis High Roller 2.10 XC perhaps?

  • No complaints with my Nevegal 2.35s (stick-e on the front) They cope with all conditions well.

If you want something fairly light I'd have a look at the Schwalbes, 2.25 Nics/Ralphs. I'd be cautious about decking out the Meta with the lightest skinniest bits you can find, it's not a hugely light frame (even the carbon) and you'll lose the fantastic suspension action.

My 2 are both kitted with 2.4" Nobby Nics on the front and 2.25" Maxxis Ardents on the back at the mo, both on fairly wide rims. It'll depend a lot on what sort of riding you do. High Rollers are a safe bet, the 2.1" is massively smaller than the 2.35" though.
