Peak District - Bakewell local rides

Heading down to Bakewell in the Peak District for a weeks holiday next week , I 've spent a long weekend riding Mam Tor , Cut Gate, Jacobs , etc etc not that long ago, based in Castleton. Was wondering if anyone has some good local routes for quick morning rides of about an hour starting in Bakewell . Cheers

I mainly ride the areas in the Dark Peak you have recently. so can't offer any advice on Bakewell im afraid. but there does appear to be a few routes here;

There is a fair few, take a look at the book "White Peak Mountain Biking - The Pure Trails"

Excellent guide and can be had for a tenner.

if you don't have mapping software I am sure I have seen something free for viewing them mentioned on the forum.

Correct - one option is to download the .gpx file in the mentioned link - got to www.bikehike.co.uk course creator and upload file, select your downloaded .gpx from your computer and voila! the route will displayed over an OS map
