is it as simple as

a: new cassette
b; 10 speed rear mech
c: 10 speed lever
d: 10 speed chain

Many thanks

( looking at upgrading components on my secteur sport - so may as well go 10 speed if its as simple as I'm hoping) :?

i think the rear mech is not needed as the indexing is in the shifter. unless you are upgrading to better spec . im looking to do the same to mine.
  • But why bother?
  • aye not cheap. I wouldn't bother.

As stated - I am upgrading components on my bike anyway - so was just toying with the idea of going 10 speed at the same time.

I'm replacing the sora shifters, and will need new cassette and chain soon anyway so why not ?

Thankyou Topmoxy for your input :)

can anyone else on this forum shed some light on my enquiry or is it limited to just getting other peoples opinions as to why would I want to bother.

My question was not, Is it worth it - Father Jack & Blackhands, but rather how would one go about it

Any constructive answers greatly appreciated :D

Chain, lever and cassette is all you need. Mech will be fine.

    Cheers
  • You just need a 10 speed shifter, 10 speed cassette and 10 speed chain.

I did the same only from 8 speed to 10 speed and got the same response from my colleges. My justification was the drive train needed replacing anyway and I found some bargain shifters on ebay.
