Any opinions on this bike? 40% and looks a great deal :-)

Focus Northern Lite 2010
Focus Northern Lite Expert 2010

What are the differences inbetween them, for quality, geometry, etc etc. I don't like MTB with too wide a handlebar, if feels a bit weird.
Say... That's a nice bike..

  • You can always replace the handlebar relatively cheaply. I'm of the opinion to buy for geometry and components, and anything in the cockpit should be written off when making a purchasing decision.
  • yeah changing bars isn't a problem. I don't like riser bars, much prefer flat, shorter mtb bars. Feels more responsive.

I'm of the same opinion; I imagine most of your MTBing was in the mid-90's?
  • Correct. Brother has a hybrid with raised bars, and they're stupidly wide. I wouldn't feel safe over taking cars one end of the bars would hit oncoming traffic lol.

Shame I'll destroy the grips doing so. although maybe since they're new should slide off easy?

  • wonder which is correct size, I ride 54cm road bikes. Canyon says a medium is right, but medium canyons are 48cm. Medium Focus are 44cm. I think my old MTB was 47cm but can't be sure.

  • I think the northern light ones are womens bikes?
