Visiting friends near Royston this weekend, and thought it might be nice to ride up there after work on Friday. Can anyone recommend a route (or part of a route)?
So far I have:
A10 - Seven Sisters
A112 - Waltham Abbey
B194 and minor roads - Lower Nazeing and Stenstead Abbots
B180/B1004/Minor roads - Little Hadham
Minor Roads - Royston
Grateful for any advice or local knowledge...

That's a fair trek.
I'd go for heading up the A1010 or the A1055 (or the Lea Valley canal path - which goes a surprisingly long way up, if you're that way inclined), and then pottering along the minor roads.
Your route looks pretty sane, though.0 -
Hi,
Do a run up to Royston quite a bit, though from a bit further East, but not that dissimilar ot where you're going (you could pick it up at Stanstaed St Margarets just before Ware

Usually takes me about 2h 45. Quite a nice run.Allez

Royston eh?
When I was in Newark Tech, 81/82, my room mate was Bob Venn, and his siter used to run a zoo thingy at Royston.
Had some Vietnamese Pot-Bellied pigs at the time.
Is she still there? Not the Pig, his sister, she would be Nee Venn, don't know her married name.0 -
