I really like the look of the new Bianchi Sempre with Campag Veloce, but I am not sure if I can wait for them to eventually arrive. So I have also been looking at the Planet X Nanolight High Modulus with Campag.
Has anyone else gone for the Planet X and what did you think?? Would it be a good comparison? I ride a Bianchi 1885 today but would like a carbon frame...

Cheers!

  • Being a Bianchi lover I'd hold out for the new Sempre. Planet x just doesn't fire my imagination.
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?
  • Nanolight is very light
Mine (large) weighs slightly over 7kg

    It's just a name.

looks wise Bianchi for sure, though the nanolight will be lighter, better groupset and the model b wheels are probably going to be much lighter than the wheelset on the bianchi.

May not be your bag but Canyon started their sale yesterday, just ordered a Ultimate CF 8.0, Mavic Ksyrium's and Ultegra groupset. not sure which size but frameweight is stated at 920g and a steal at £1800...over my budget but what the hell!

Lighter doesn't necessarily mean the bike will roll faster, climb better or be more stable
    I like white bikes

I think the new Bianchi looks knock out but there is something about the Planet X way of things that lift my skirt also. Ive not ridden a PX but love my Binachi............ sorry I guess thats no help at all. Try and ride both

...I agree it doesnt, though Id expect the new nanolights to be pretty stiff but having not ridden one cant comment on stiffness. Though there are comments out there about the planet x being twitchy when descending which is a little worrying I guess.
  • Tough choice, both great bikes.
I know someone who went from a bianchi 928 c2c with veloce to a planet x sl pro with ultegra.
    WAY faster on sl pro!
If its not about the speed and its just the love of cycling then get the one that you like most, i actually think you may find the weight on the nano light will help on climbs and will help on accelerations and probably make it slightly faster.

I've never really understood when people say bikes are twitchy or descend bad, they handle slighty differently but i have never felt and unease myself and i've never seen anyone thrown off their bike because they couldnt handle its unruly ways.

The veloce kit isnt light, i imagine you can get a nano light with full sram fod for the same price as the bianchi... Its a nice decision to have to make
See if you can have a go on both.
